Volunteer Groups
We are delighted when a group decides to share their volunteer experience with us at
National Mill Dog Rescue.  Whether the group is from a school, church, corporation, or
any type of organization, volunteering together is an excellent bonding experience.
In order to best plan a volunteer group event, we ask that the group coordinator:
Review the National Mill Dog Rescue Volunteer Handbook.
Submit the National Mill Dog Rescue Volunteer Group Application.  If your group
has specific talents you would like to share at National Mill Dog Rescue please note
this on your application.
Volunteer Groups have a minimum of 4 and a maximum of 25 individuals.
For volunteers under the age of 18 you must provide at a minimum a 1:5 adult to
youth ratio (see the Youth Group Policies in the Handbook).
All volunteers must submit a signed NMDR Visitor Liability Waiver co-signed by
parent if under 18 years of age.
Volunteer Groups must identify a Group Coordinator who is responsible for
communications and the safety and well-being of group members:

Providing coordination and supervision for group while volunteering; and ensuring
all members adhere to NMDR rules and procedures
Some of our teams
Adoption fair team
An adoption fair is held every Saturday at the Petco
located at Union and Powers, other than the second
Saturday when we're at Whole Foods on Powers. 11am
until 2pm. We need people to help transport dogs to and
from the kennel to the fair and to stay at the fair to
assist potential families, interested in adopting.
Bathing & grooming
team
Do you want instant gratification?  We have a great
little salon and need gentle and kind volunteers to help
our dogs shine.  Bathers will be trained and asked to
bathe a minimum of once or twice a month.
Dog care team
This group cleans the kennel every morning from 8:30-
until whenever the job is done. We always need help
and will take any time you can spare.
Local events &
fundraising
Volunteers are always needed in the Colorado area to
help with local fund raising events.
Fundraising
This is a great way to volunteer if you can't make it out
to the kennel and would like to help NMDR from where
ever you are.  Help raise funds online and become a part
of NMDR's national fund raising team.  Online
creativeness welcome.
Home check team
These volunteers visit the homes of families who are
interested in adopting or fostering one of our dogs. We
need people from all over the state to participate.
Foster care
We always need families interested in providing a
temporary home for our dogs. If you would like to join
this program, please complete the Foster/Adoption
application on our website.
Contruction team
Able to help with construction, building, and
maintenance projects?  This team would love to have
your help.
