Pepper

Pepper

My name is Pepper and I'm a mini Blue Heeler mix. I'm around 4 years old and have had all my dental work done. You can't tell from my picture but I'm only about 20 pounds. I'm as smart as a full size blue but with 1/2 the size and energy. I like taking long naps and cuddle like a lap dog more than I herd anything. I'm already housebroken and leash trained. I know how to use a doggie door too. I am not destructive or a big chewer and if you leave me with a toy to play with or a pig ear I'm fine alone for awhile. I'm learning some basic commands from my new foster mom. I learned to sit in less than a weekend! I think cats are great...as appetizers so I should not live in a house with them. I'm picky about other dogs too and if they are the size of cats I lump them in the same category. I would be OK with a dog as big or bigger than me though. I like little kids and am very tolerant of all their kissing and hugging. My foster family has a 4 year old that holds my leash on my walks and I never pull her. I'm not that active and don't see what all the fuss about fetch is. I'm really more of a spectator when the rest of the dogs play. I like car rides and sit patiently until we get where we're going. I like water and really want to jump in the pond but my foster mom won't let me. To be perfectly honest, I think short fences are for jumping or climbing-especially if there is something to chase on the other side. My forever home has to have a secure yard. I don't dig but trust me, I will look for any openings. Fireworks and thunder will send me running to bed. So I have a few minor issues but with all I've been through I'm remarkably well adjusted. Did I mention that I'm crate trained too?! I think if I just had a patient forever home that will help me to gain some self confidence that I would be the best friend you could ask for.
