Felix
Felix is being called Boomer by his foster family. He is a beautiful, salt and pepper Schnauzer boy who is between 5 and 7 years old. He has been neutered and seems perfectly healthy, but he is extremely timid. We have not been able to coax him close enough to pet him or hold him, but he comes and goes from the house with our other dogs and comes when they are called. When we have had to catch him, he never tries to bite or growl, but it is easy to tell that he is not comfortable. Still, he has made remarkable progress since he was brought here in May. At that time, he would not come into the house without being forced and he was fearful of everything, including the other dogs. He didn't know how to play and would lay down when the pack tried to play with him. We had to feed him outside, alone or he wouldn't eat. Now he is one of the pack, but humans still worry him. I find that he wants to know where I am, but doesn't want me to show him any attention. Also, he is not particular about where he goes, so housetraining is an issue. Most of the time he makes it outside, but he and the other males have marking issues.
I know that with time and patience he will overcome his fears and be more normal, but I don't anticipate that he will be a lap dog.
